Japan Earth Quake

Apple is offering those customers with Apple hardware directly damaged as a result of the Japan earthquake and tsunami chance to possibly receive free repairs. The offer was posted on the company's Japanese website. It only applies to customers living in areas covered by Japan's Ministry of Health's Disaster Relief Act. It excludes standard (non-iPod touch) iPods, including the classic, nano and shuffle.

The offer was quietly posted in March. It's another offer by a high-tech company to help those affected by the massive earthquake and tsunami that took place on March 11, 2011. Ironically, that was the same day as the launch of the iPad 2.

It follows Softbank's offer to replace lost and damaged iPhones registered to its network. Time is running out to apply: the acceptance period for applications only runs through June 30th.
